Hair Offering Information

On weekdays the Hair Offering puja can be done anytime from 9:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. During weekends the priests are usually busy with other services due to a large turnout of visitors. As such, devotees for hair offering may have to wait a while until the priests become available to perform the ceremony.

Please note that during weekends, hair-offering will not be performed between 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. since priests will be busy performing Abhishekam.

At the time of the hair offering puja, three ceremonial cuts of hair are removed. This should be done by a family member since the priest will not perform this. If full tonsure is required after the puja, you may go to a nearby salon of your choice. Please note that most barber shops in the area are closed on Sundays and Mondays. A list of barbers in the Penn Hills/Monroeville area is provided for you benefit.
